Eric Jordan blesses Assemble with another new portrait of The Root’s front man Black Thought. E Jordan really blew me away with this latest piece. His use of bright colors to shade areas on the face is just sick. Not much more to say but good work. If you want more info on Eric and his work, email him at eric@ejordanill.com Keep it fresh.

Murs 3:16 in association with Guerilla Union released the 2010 lineup for the annual Paid Dues Independent Hip Hop Festival this morning. Aside from the roll he plays as a member of the Living Legends crew, Murs has also established a name for himself as a solo artist. He’s worked with other seminal underground idols such as 9th Wonder, Slug and Ant of Atmosphere, and Aesop Rock, and is, in fact, better than your favorite rapper. Guerilla Union has created three inimitable hip hop and crossover platforms: the world class Rock the Bells Series, the stoner’s paradise Cypress Hill Smokeout Festival, and Paid Dues. The two partners in crime can only lead to spectacular results.
Paid Dues gives independent hustlers a platform to share their music that is widely ignored by popular media. It gives audience members a place to embrace the hip hop culture and to escape from mainstream confinements. This year’s 5th annual event features artists from across the underground board—from host Dumbfoundead to the reunion of LA’s Freestyle Fellowship to the (recently converted indie label) headliner Ice Cube, you’ll find it all at Paid Dues.
